Do You Love Jesus!

This is a question most well meaning Christians would say "yes" to, definitely "Yes". Of course we would not want to think of ourselves as not loving Jesus. But the scripture is clear of one thing. If we do not live in obedience, we don't love Him. If we chose our own way, we don't love Him. If we don't spend time with Him, we don't love Him. Let's search the scriptures.

John 14:15 says "If ye love me, keep my commandments" and in verse 21 "He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him." God's Holy Word is true! Do you keep His commandments? Are His words to you grievous because you want to do your own thing, make your own decisions, lead your own life? If so, this is a life without God's love manifested in it. Submission and obedience show God how much we love Him. Manifest means to show or make know. God does not make Himself known to those who do not wish to keep His commandments.

How much time are you abiding in Him? I mean prayer, bible study and listening for His voice in your life. Your answer may determine how much abiding you are or not doing. In John 15:5-10 it says "I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
6   If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
7   If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
8   Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
9   As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.10   If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
" Abide means to be, or exist, to continue in, dwell, rest, stand firm.

Jesus wants us to abide with Him. He wants our attitudes to abide with His. He wants our love to abide with Him. He wants to be our All in All. It is very simple. DETERMINE to spend time with Him no matter what! Make Him your priority. You will never regret it. He will make it worth your while. I ask you again, "Do you love Jesus?"
